Time for a change again :)

I have converted this site over to PHP and MySQL. I thought that it was about time that I learnt a web platform other than Lotus Domino and have been wanting to take a look at PHP for a long time now, so I finally took the plunge and ported the website over. Jake's excellent series of articles on the LAMP platform over at codestore.net got me started.

So far I have found it to be an excellent platform to work with and look forward to getting to know it a lot better in the coming months.

It's been nearly 2 years since I last updated the Java applet ports of the NeHe OpenGL tutorials on this site. I have finally got round to updating them to properly support the latest versions of the GL4Java library. If you had problems with the old applets not animating properly, you should download the updated code.

I am sure that this is only going to be of interest to my family, but I have now provided a link on the left to my Babies Website. The site only contains scans and photos of the nursery for now. Only 7 and a half weeks to go and I will be a dad, madness :)

I would just like to thank Benedict Poole for mentioning my QuickNotes application in his excellent Domino blog. Cheers man :)

Updated the QuickNotes application with a version that now supports hierarchies (1 level only at the moment) and uses a rich edit control, which means that URLs now become clickable.

This web site is now entirely run from a Domino database rather than a set of HTML files. Not sure why I didn't develop the site like that in the first place considering thats what I do for a living :). This update should make updating the site a lot easier so hopefully there will be a bit more activity around here from now on.
